A foster home environment helps animals to recover from their injuries or trauma. Some animals are in protective custody awaiting the outcomes of seizure applications or prosecutions for animal cruelty offences. This can take up to two years. It is better that these animals have a normal life in a foster home while they're waiting.
You can nominate to foster one of the animals below, if you meet the special requirements they have. For animals in protective custody, we cannot show their faces, but we can provide a pixelated image of them and a brief description of their background, so you can get a glimpse of their appearance and see their requirements from their future foster family. Their names have also been changed to protect their identity.
Use the menu below to find a suitable animal to foster.
Please read the foster requirements carefully. If you match the needs of the animal, please complete a Foster Application form and nominate that animal.
If you don't meet the needs of these animals but would still like to foster an animal, please complete an Application to Foster form and provide as much detail as possible about your experience with animals, your circumstances, and the property where the animal will be staying.
