Volunteer Junior Roles Dean: Giving Our Strays a Chance When Dean was just 10 years old, he established GOSAC – Give Our Strays A Chance, which works to raise funds and awareness for various animal shelters and rescue groups. Dean goes above and beyond for animals in need, asking various businesses for donations of money, pet food and other goods. By the time Dean became an RSPCA Junior Ambassador, GOSAC had already raised over $10,000 and donated thousands of dollars worth of items to help give abandoned animals a second chance. Dean is now 17 and he’s continuing to teach the community about the importance of adopting strays rather than shopping for animals. He recently did an interview for Cat Haven’s quarterly magazine CatChat, which you can read here. Dean was appointed as a Junior Ambassador in front of his teachers and 1500 classmates at Melville Senior High School in August 2018. In October 2018, Dean was the inaugural winner of the RSPCA WA Animal Welfare Youth Award, recognising and celebrating his efforts to help rescue, rehabilitate and rehome stray animals in WA. We're very proud to have Dean on the Junior Ambassador team! You can keep up with Dean's achievements and fundraising activities by following GOSAC on Facebook. A wrap-up of 2018 from Dean Morris, founder of GOSAC Dean Morris, RSPCA WA Junior Ambassador and 2018 RSPCA WA Youth Award Winner, has put this great video together to thank his supporters, and to show what a difference they are making to help animals in need. We think Dean is a great inspiration, and is the living embodiment of what being a Junior Ambassador is all about. Thank YOU, Dean, for all you do for animals in need!
