Michelle has extensive experience in government, industry and the community sector and is CEO of a community based organisation. Prior to this, Michelle was an Executive Director in the Department of Regional Development, and held senior roles in community relations, policy and advocacy at Rio Tinto and the WA Local Government Association.

Michelle has worked in the Pilbara and on remote Kimberley Aboriginal communities. A recipient of national and state awards for her work in local government, regional development and reconciliation, Michelle has a Master of Arts in Public Policy and a Bachelor of Music/Arts (Hons) from the University of Melbourne. She graduated with an Order of Merit from the Australian Institute of Company Directors' course and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and Leadership WA.
