About the Opportunity

We are seeking a fundraising professional who also has a passion for animal welfare.  The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, is highly adaptable to change and can effectively manage internal and external stakeholders with competing demands and tasks. This is a full-time permanent role based at the RSPCA Animal Care Centre in Malaga.

The Fundraising Officer supports the organisations Fundraising strategy and plans by implementing direct and digital marketing programs (developed with the Team Leader Fundraising) to recruit, retain, and develop donors who support the RSPCA WA's fundraising campaigns and assisting with the wider donor stewardship program, through a wide range of channels, including online, direct mail, telemarketing, and digital media.  

Specifically, this role focuses on developing and growing the regular giving program, supporting the campaigns, acquisition and stewardship programs, and developing and promoting the community fundraising program.

Selection Criteria


  • Previous experience (1-3 years) in a fundraising, donor development, and/or relationship role within a not-for-profit charitable organisation.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills (verbal, written, phone and in person) and demonstrated ability to build relationships with various individuals and organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work systematically and effectively, managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a flexible and positive attitude.
  • Previous experience in month-end fundraising reporting and reconciliations.
  • Superior attention to detail, especially with respect to written communications and data entry.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to use initiative and solve problems logically.
  • High level of maturity, incorporating resilience, compassion, and empathy.
  • A good level of comfort in interacting with animals.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and sound research and analytical skills.


  • Knowledge of CRMs such as Salesforce.
  • A good understanding of animal welfare issues in WA.

Note: The successful applicant will require a WA police clearance and a current, valid C-class driver's license.
