The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Western Australia (RSPCA WA) is the State’s leading voice in animal welfare. On an average day we employ around 90 staff and we also have the support of an amazing group of volunteers. Together, our team works diligently towards preventing animal cruelty.

About this opportunity

In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the development and delivery of effective learning & development programs and organisational development initiatives. It is required to manage the day to day requirements of the Learning and Development function.

Duties

Learning & Development

  • Coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of staff learning and development programs and the implementation of an annual corporate training plan and budget.
  • Administrate Learning Management System (LMS) if applicable and ensuring systematic capture of corporate training records and data.
  • Develop and facilitate relevant “in-house” training sessions / programs including e-learning.
  • Manage the implementation and delivery of learning and development activities which includes annual training calendar, compliance training, induction, e-learning modules, qualification programs and other face-to-face programs.
  • Coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of a suite of Leadership Development programs.
  • Evaluate and prepare reports on the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Provide specialist advice to managers & staff on learning & development and act as a resource to managers in sourcing/developing appropriate business unit specific training.
  • Develop and coordinate the corporate induction programs, work experience and any traineeship programs.

Organisation Development

  • In consultation with Human Resources, assist in co-ordinating the implementation of Performance Appraisals and associated support programs.
  • Provide assistance to managers & staff in the development of policies and procedures.
  • Identify and recommend areas of improvement in OD activities, services and policies.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of organisational development / strategic OD and Business Improvement policy and programs.
  • Act as the Organisation Development representative on any committees, forums and focus groups as may be required.

Skills & experience

  • Tertiary qualifications (diploma or degree) in a relevant discipline or significant experience in training and development.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and evaluating training programs.
  • Extensive experience with training administration and needs analysis.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (desirable).
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to achieve agreed results and outcomes.
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.
  • The ability to liaise and deal with networks / counterparts in other organisations to assist the development / progress of initiatives.
  • Ability to liaise effectively and professionally with external organisations.
  • Experience with e-learning content creation tools (e.g. Articulate, Storyline etc) is desirable.
