We are seeking a fundraising and partnership specialist who also has a passion for animal welfare. The ideal applicant will have outstanding networking and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to use a strategic approach to building and developing a philanthropy and partnership program, using their skills and experience to make a transformative impact on our capacity to meet the demand for our services.

About the Role

This role is a parental leave coverage position, available on a maximum term contract until 30 June 2024, and will be responsible for the oversight and development of the Philanthropy (Major Donor and Gift in Wills), Corporate Partnerships, and Grants Programs (Private and Corporate Foundations). The candidate will be responsible for achieving strategic objectives through the generation and growth of lasting relationships and sustainable financial support. This position plays a key role in ensuring the organisational targets for year-on-year growth are met. 

Key Focus Areas 

Reporting to the Executive Manager Fundraising and Social Enterprise, the Philanthropy and Partnership Manager is a key member of RSPCA WA’s Fundraising team contributing significantly to increasing the net revenue received from major gifts, family trusts and foundations, corporate giving and bequests to support RSPCA WA’s animal welfare programs through:

  • Developing and executing plans and strategies to meet the organisation’s annual targets for sustained year-on-year income growth.
  • Planning, developing and monitoring an income (cash, in kind and grants) pipeline.
  • Actively soliciting new business supporters and donors, while also building existing corporate relationships and stewarding donors.
  • Providing regular reporting with particular emphasis on relationships and opportunities to the leadership team.
  • Manage national corporate partnerships to ensure growth and compliance with all requirements.
  • Oversee team members, providing leadership, ongoing monitoring, and development.

Skills and qualifications

To succeed in this job the ideal candidate will have: 

  • Demonstrated significant strategic level experience in the initiation, development, and growth of either philanthropy or corporate partnerships.
  • Proven track record in forecasting, developing, and implementing engagement plans.
  • Successful record of delivering against revenue targets.
  • Sound management experience and a track record creating constructive team cultures and developing talent.
  • Excellent high-level communication and negotiation skills and experience in requesting and gaining support.
  • Advanced project management, analysis and reporting skills.
  • Enjoy working under pressure.
  • Exhibit high levels of emotional maturity and compassion. 
  • A recent National Police clearance.
  • Current driver’s license.
