Food donations

Thanks to the generous support of Royal Canin, the dogs and cats in our shelter and foster care receive all the food they need.

However, donations of unopened pet food are still incredibly valuable. They help support animals and families in our Community Outreach programs, Community Action Days and can be used by inspectors responding to animals in need across Western Australia.

We can accept:

  • Dry dog food
  • Dry cat food
  • Puppy biscuits
  • Small cans of cat food
  • Dog and cat treats
  • Chicken pellets
  • Rabbit and guinea pig food

Please ensure all food donations are unopened and within their best-before or use-by date.

Items we can’t accept

To protect the health and safety of our animals, staff and volunteers, and to minimise unnecessary waste, there are some items we’re unable to accept.

Please do not donate:

  • Trampoline-style dog beds
  • Pillows or cushions
  • Pillowcases, fitted sheets or flat sheets
  • Doonas, quilts or padded bed covers
  • Mattresses
  • Dirty, stained or heavily worn towels, blankets or clothing
  • Broken or damaged items
  • Magazines or glossy paper
  • Large quantities of fresh produce
  • Rawhide dog treats

Please don’t leave these items at our Animal Care Centre, as disposing of unsuitable donations comes at a cost that could otherwise go towards caring for animals.
