This is a story of hope, heroism, cooperation and ‘catted’ determination to rescue a five-week-old kitten stuck down a drain in Welshpool last week.

The rescue took an incredible six hours and would not have been possible without your support.

A kind volunteer from Tunnel Vision searching for the kitten on camera.  The tiny kitten was found trapped at the bottom of a drain.

Warehouse workers had been hearing a kitten cry but couldn’t locate it, so they called the RSPCA.  Our inspector set about trying to rescue the as-yet-unseen ball of fluff from a drain on the site but soon discovered she’d need more help.

The inspector called six plumbing companies, before finally striking gold with Tunnel Vision who volunteered their workforce, time and specialist equipment to help locate the kitten.

The kitten was spotted on camera, and the warehouse staff kindly agreed to have their pavers pulled up so the inspector could bring the little fluff to safety with her cat net. Watch the rescue unfold in the video below.

The grey and white marvel has been fully vet checked and is in good health. She’ll stay in RSPCA WA foster care until she’s old enough and strong enough to be adopted.

She’s been christened Jaye after the kind-hearted plumbing receptionist, who agreed to help without hesitation.
