RSPCA WA has charged a 21-year-old Collie man and 21-year-old Carey Park woman in relation to an emaciated dog and a deceased dog, sighted by RSPCA inspectors at a Collie property on 16 May 2019.

The inspectors had attended the property in response to a cruelty complaint regarding two Staffordshire-cross breed dogs.

Both dogs were seized and taken to veterinarians who examined the female dog and performed an autopsy on the deceased male dog. Both were found to be severely emaciated.

The man and woman have been charged under section 19(1) of the Animal Welfare Act 2002.

Both are due to appear in the Collie Magistrates Court on 19 May 2021.
