Containers for Change

Did you know...

Containers for Change logoYou can help animals in need by recycling eligible drink containers?

You can donate your 10c refund to RSPCA WA when you recycle your bottles and cans. It doesn't sound like much, but every little bit helps and it all adds up to helping rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals in need.

How does recycling your drink containers help animals?

  1. You can donate your Containers for Change refund to RSPCA WA, and help animals facing cruelty and neglect to access medical care, rehabilitation and the best chance of finding a loving new forever home; and
  2. by recycling, you're keeping potentially dangerous plastics and glass out of harm's way - protecting pets and wildlife at the same time.

DONATE
your refund to RSPCA WA

Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard drink containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible There are different types of refund points across Western Australia, so find the right one for you. You'll receive 10c for each eligible container you return which you can keep or donate.

How do I donate my Containers for Change refund to RSPCA WA?

Before you arrive at any Containers for Change depot, ensure that you've downloaded the Containers for Change WA app. Once signed in, add us to your wallet by tapping "wallet" in the bottom row, tapping the "add" button in the top left, and putting in the below member number:

RSPCA WA Member Number: C10264579

Once saved in your wallet, it will produce a barcode that you simply show to an attendant at a depot once you've brought in your containers.

You can also drop your containers off at the RSPCA WA Animal Care Centre where we have a large recycling bin. It's located along the side of our administration building, next to the staff carpark and donation drop-off point.

It's the easiest way to do it - no need to sign into an app - just drop your eligible containers in the recycling bin and drive away. We'll take care of the rest.

What containers are eligible?

Not all containers are eligible for the 10c refund. If you are ever unsure, please use the Containers for Change barcode scanner function, which will help you identify whether a container is eligible.

Want to know what we're doing with your donations? Fill in the form below to see how your donations are helping to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals suffering from cruelty and neglect throughout Western Australia.

RSPCA WA is the State's oldest and largest animal welfare charity. We rely on generous donations and community support for around 80 per cent of what it costs to carry out our animal protection work.
