Foster Application Step 2 Thank you for applying to become a Foster Carer. To complete your application, please provide the following: Landlord/agent approval If you are renting, you will need to provide written permission from your real estate agent or landlord that states that animals are permitted to live on the property. This can be: a lease agreement, a text message or an email. Please send either a PDF of the lease agreement or email, or a screen shot of text messages. Property images Please provide several (usually 4-7) photographs of the property to demonstrate that it is suitable, safe and secure. Foster dogs are required to have access to both outside and inside the house, and foster cats are required to be kept strictly indoors. Backyard: we need to clearly see: the type of fencing you have, and that is has no gaps in or under fencing where an animal could potentially squeeze through the gates, which must be lockable any water features or pools, must have council approved fencing or are able to be cordoned off to prevent an animal from falling in pictures to give an overall idea of the condition of the back yard that shows there are no hazardous objects. Inside the home: we need to see: the room/s in which the foster animal would be housed windows and doors, which must be secure and lockable pictures to give an idea of the overall condition of the room/s that show there are no hazardous objects. Once we have received these photographs, you will be entered into our foster care database. When an animal who requires a foster home matches your preferences, you will be contacted. How do I send my ID documents to RSPCA WA? The easiest way to send images and documents is via email, using your mobile phone. Save a copy of your lease agreement (or screen shots of emails/texts) on your phone. Take photos of your property, paying careful attention to the details outlined above. Click here to send information Medical Appointments reminder Shelter animals will need to be brought back to the RSPCA Animal Care Centre in Malaga for regular medical checks and behaviour assessments. The frequency will depend on each animal, but generally either every two weeks in the beginning, or at least once a month. Medical appointments for foster animals are scheduled between set times on weekdays: Monday 1.30pm-3.00pm Tuesday 9.00am-11.30am Wednesday 1.30pm-2.00pm Thursday 1.30pm-3.00pm Friday 9.00am-11.30am Medical appointments or behaviour assessments are not available over weekends.
