RSPCA WA asks anyone who may know the current whereabouts of Te Kapua Reremoana HEMOPO (pictured) to contact police.

Hemopo is subject to an warrant issued for his arrest in the Fremantle Magistrates Court on 29 July 2014 for animal cruelty.

He is also known as TK Hemopo.

Hemopo was last known to reside in the Parmelia area.

Reports of information can be made anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or Police on 131 444.

The public are cautioned that people on outstanding warrants may react in an unpredictable manner to avoid arrest and should not be approached.

The partner of Mr Hemopo, Vanessa Masoomian, (22), of Parmelia, was also convicted for failing to take steps to alleviate harm in failing to take the dog to a vet for treatment. Ms Masoomian received a $5,000 fine and a ten year ban from owning any animal.

The couple were charged in relation to animal cruelty offences to their dog, Bobbi, a larger mix breed dog. The veterinary report on her injuries revealed extensive multiple recent fractures and multiple old fractures which were consistent not only with the incident reported on 3 March 2014, but injuries sustained from previous beatings.

The injuries sustained upon the dog from the reported incident included extensive fractures to the skull, jaw fractured on both sides, right shoulder and leg fractures and broken ribs that had pierced the lungs.

Chief Inspector Amanda Swift said the case was a particularly violent and disturbing incident and that sadly evidence showed this was not the first time the dog had suffered beatings.

"Any level of aggression towards an innocent animal is unacceptable, but this case is particularly distressing as the injuries were so severe it resulted in the dog needing more than eight days of intensive veterinary treatment to stabilise her and subsequently, her leg required amputation as it was irreparable. "We now call for public help to locate Mr Hemopo to enable the Court to determine the appropriate sentence for his actions. It is quite unbelievable that this dog actually survived this horrific ordeal. Thankfully, she now has a caring and loving home."

"We have said it before and we will say it again - those in our society who commit deliberate cruelty to animals will be prosecuted and brought to justice for the pain and suffering inflicted on defenceless animals. We need the public to continue reporting acts of cruelty to the RSPCA.
