    A Baldivis man has been sentenced in Rockingham Magistrates Court after admitting to causing harm to his ex-wife’s elderly dog, Blossom, by throwing her with enough force to cause a catastrophic leg fracture. The 47-year-old was fined $3,000, prohibited from being in charge of an animal for two years, and ordered to pay $1,646.30 in legal costs.

    A 56-year-old Maylands man has been fined $4,500 after being caught on CCTV beating, abusing, and tormenting a dog at a client’s home. The offender was at the property in Maylands on 23 January 2026 in his role as a physical therapist with a large in-home health and aged care provider.

    Beckenham woman convicted of dog beating, torture

    Warning: distressing content. A 23-year-old Beckenham woman has been convicted of animal cruelty for strangling and hitting her one-year-old mixed breed dog, Roxy, on several occasions on 13 October last year. She was sentenced to 6 months and 14 days imprisonment, conditionally suspended for 12 months, with supervision and programme requirements.

    A 53-year-old Gosnells woman has been handed an ten-month imprisonment sentence (suspended for 12 months), fined $4,000 and been banned from being in charge of any animal for 10 years after pleading guilty to 15 charges of animal cruelty.
