RSPCA WA recently published a Facebook post to attract much-needed foster carers for about 30 Burmese cats who were all named after drag queens.

The response was overwhelming, with many of the cats now in homes.

Spokesperson Louise Rowe said not only did they receive many requests from people wanting to become foster carers, but the drag queens the cats were named after were tagged in the post so many times, one of them decided to stop by on Wednesday and meet some of the girls.

“Perth-based queen Nanna Bingo was one of the cats’ namesakes but cat Nanna Bingo was so popular she had already been fostered when she stopped by,” Lou said.

“Instead, Nanna hung out with Vanity Faire and Sashay in their cat condos at the RSPCA shelter.”

Nanna, a long-time supporter of the animal welfare charity, was greeted with chin rubs and kisses by her fellow queens and thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet them.

“These sassy ladies, and a few of their friends, are ready to be fostered by loving carers so if you are interested in becoming a foster carer head to our website to submit a form,” Lou said.

“When fostering, we will give you everything you need including bedding, pet food, bowls, toys, vet care and medications. The only thing you will need to provide is plenty of love and a warm home.”

While Nanna’s wise cracks and fabulous dress sense went over the heads of Vanity Faire and Sashay you might really enjoy the queen’s show! If you are interested in heading to a Nanna Bingo show she will be at North Perth Town Hall on May 3 or you can book her for your next function.
