At just 11 years old, Lachlan started his own business, Nummy Nibbles, making home-made dog treats. This is probably why the animals love him so much!

Lachlan donates the profits from his business to animals in need. Before he became an RSPCA WA Junior Ambassador, he had already donated over $200 to the Staffy and Bully Breed Rescue group!

Lachlan gets involved in as many RSPCA events as possible, and has set a benchmark in raising funds for RSPCA's sweetest fundraising event, RSPCA Cupcake Day. In 2019, Lachlan raised over $1200 to help animals in need. That's a lot of Cupcakes (and Pupcakes!)

Lachlan sets a great example for his peers, and is well on his way to achieving his life's ambition: to rescue as many animals and find them their "furever families".

Great job, Lachlan, and we're proud to have you on the Junior Ambassador Program!

(Here's a short video Lachlan filmed with an important message for pet care during Perth's long hot summers.

Q&A with Lachlan

What school do you attend and how old are you?

I am home-schooled and in year 9. I'm 14 years old.

Why were you nominated to be an RSPCA Junior Ambassador?

I was running a business called Nummy Nibbles, where I made dog treats and sold them to friends and family. I donated part of my profits to local animal rescues and the RSPCA. I managed to raise a few thousand dollars over the years to help the rescues look after their animals.

What do you love about helping animals?

There are so many reasons why I love helping animals, but the main one is that all animals deserve to feel loved.

What types of animals have you helped?

I’ve helped many dog rescues, a rat rescue and all the animals that the RSPCA help.

What’s the best thing about being a Junior Ambassador?

Getting to meet so many different animals (especially all the dogs at the Million Paws Walk).

Do you have a favourite RSPCA event to volunteer, fundraise for or be involved with?

I LOVE the Million Paws Walk!! It has always been my favourite day of the year.

In your role as an RSPCA Junior Ambassador, how do you educate others about correct animal care?

I like to make videos that my Mum and Dad put on social media. It is a great way to educate people on the best way to care for all types of animals.

What are you working on now?

I’m making more animal care videos, and coming up with some ideas for Cupcake Day (because I love to bake!)

Do you have any pets of your own?

Yes. I have the worlds best dog! His name is Zappa and he is an American Staffy. I love him with all of my heart.

What do you want to do after you finish school?

I want to be a professional drummer, and start a band with my Dad ( who is a professional guitar player and singer).
